the Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings began in 1926 known as the Detroit Cougars. From 1930-1932 they were called the Detroit Falcons and then became the Red Wings in 1932. The team won the Stanley Cup in 1936, 1937, 1943, 1950, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1997, 1998 and 2002. The Red Wings play in the Central Division of the Western Conference of the NHL.
