About the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steers began in 1933 when Art Rooney purchased an NFL franchise for $2,500.  Due to World War II the team merged with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1943 but the pair broke up the next year.  The Steelers have played in five Super Bowl games winning four (IX, X, XIII & XIV) and losing one (XXX).  The Steelers play their home games at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
