About the Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons began in 1965 as an expansion team in the NFL through the efforts of team owner Rankin Smith, a young insurance executive at the time.  Playing now at the Georgia Dome, the teams original home was Atlanta Fulton County stadium.  The Falcons appeared in Super Bowl XXXIII losing to the Denver Broncos 34-19.
