About the Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers began in 1937 known as the the Syracuse Nationals. The team moved to Philadelphia in 1963 and was renamed at that time.  The franchise has won three NBA titles, in 1955-56, 1966-67and 1982-83. Notable alumni include Julius Erving, Wilt Chamberlain and Charles Barkley. The 76ers play in the Atlantic Division.
