the Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks began in 1946 known as the Tri-Cities Blackhawks shared by the three cities of Moline and Rock Island, Illinois, and Davenport, Iowa. In 1951 the team moved to Milwaukee and in 1955 to St. Louis. In 1958, as the St. Louis Hawks, the club won its only championship. In 1968 the team moved to its current home, Atlanta. Notable alumni include Bob Pettit, Dominique Wilkins, Lou Hudson and Pete Maravich. The Hawks play in the Central Division.
